(Emerson) Leroy Jackson

Feb. 2018

Leroy was the kind of easy-going person that everyone likes. When his health allowed it, he would mow the community and even when he couldn't do that, he was eager to help wherever he could. He was very attached to his little dog "Missy" who has went back to a family she knows well. Leroy would have wanted that. He was very loyal to his friends. He enjoyed hanging out of the office, joking with his friends and watching TV with his dog. He was a truly amazing man that will be greatly missed in our community.

Helen

On March 27, 2014 our community mourned the loss of long-time resident Helen Bertrand. Helen lived at SFR with her husband and their dogs. She liked to take walks in the community pushing her grandson in the stroller and visiting friends and family. Helen attended many community events and often helped when she was able. A balloon release is being planned by the family to commerate her life. Information about this event will be on the community bulletin (in front of community center). There is also collection jar in the office to help raise funds for the family and a card for friends and community members to sign.

Helen will be greatly missed in this community she was such a large part of.

Raymond "Rawdy" Mills was a very active member of the Sunrise Family Resort community. He served as a member of the SFR Neighborhood Watch, softball coach in the SFR summer program and helped in many events including the haunted forest (Halloween), brunch cooker/server, Bingo caller and chaperone/assistant to many youth activities.

Event coordinator and good friend Charlotte Deel said "Raymond was a big part of our community and a dear friend to so many of us... He was always there to help with whatever activity was going on and was a true friend to me and my family. He did so much for the kids and our community and enjoyed every minute of it. He liked to make everything fun and to make people laugh. One of my fondest memories is his dancing with the dummy when we were making our haunted forest. He may be gone but he will not be forgotten."

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the Enos Baptist Church. Donations are gratefully accepted at the SFR community center to help the family with expenses.
